Summer is rolling around, so it's the perfect time to start crocheting some warm-weather accessories!

Even though Fall and Winter are typically the "crochet seasons", I find that there are so many fun projects to make for Spring and Summer too!

Clothing, jewelry, accessories, home decor, amigurumi...

Here are some of my free SUMMER crochet designs, just to name a few!

To add onto that list, I'm thrilled to share with you my newest project: the Summer Flower Headband!

This Headband Design is...

  • Quick to work up
  • Beginner-friendly
  • A great stashbuster
  • Giftable
  • Minimalist
  • Vintage
  • Cute
  • Romantic
  • Adjustable to any head size
  • Versatile and can be made with different types of yarn weights, fibers, colors, and crochet hook sizes

I designed this project as a gift for my daughter and two of my friends' baby girls!  My two friends live back in California where I'm from, and we're all first-time mamas with baby girls born just months apart.  With the COVID vaccinations now rolled out and both of our states entering a full reopening in the upcoming weeks, we've decided to do a meet-up for the first time!  Having been born during the pandemic, Lena Rose hasn't had the experience of having playdates yet, and her time spent with our family and relatives have been very minimal.  That piece has been hard on us, and so I'm extra excited about having the opportunity now to finally get together with my friends and their baby girls.  Anyhow, getting back on topic here -- I decided to crochet matching flower headbands for our little ones' very first meetup together!   I just can't wait to see our three little chunks playing together and matching!

This design really gives off a sweet vibe with the lacy texture of the headband and how dainty the two-layered flower is!  I just love pairing white and blush pink together as well; it's a cute match made in Heaven!  I low-key want to crochet one for myself as well so that I can have some matching Mommy-and-me moments with baby Lena Rose!

I can't stop taking pictures of my baby girl in it!  I don't know if it's the headband or her cheeks... probably the cheeks!

Yep, definitely the cheeks.

I also have to add -- this headband makes a beautiful last-gift for so many occasions!  Baby showers, birthdays, Mother’s Day, Christmas, holidays...  It’s also suitable as a fast and easy product to stock for craft fairs, or as photo props for photographers.

I loved the headband on my baby so much that I even tried my hand at turning the photos into something more "professional-looking"!  I have a long way to go in terms of improvement, but I think the edited picture looks nice as a small size (where you can't see how obviously cut-out Lena's body is over the fake background)!

Anyhow, enough of the blabbering!
